we salute you, obviously. Thanks to everyone who came along to the gig at Bar Rumba on Friday - you wuz a terrific audience, and we wuz right grateful for all your clapping, roaring of approval (of the beer?) and general hip/unhip attitude to life. Why do we do it? So you don't have to. See above.
Despite some bizarre backline issues (ie, that there wasn't one until about half 6), the SOP set actually happened, and included three new songs: "Hannah of Troy" (Helen had a sister, didn't you know?), "Dictaphone Don" (inspired by a cover line from a certain literary journal, apparently) and "Beach cafe" (not entirely recent in composition, but only recently recorded and never before played in publicke, m'lud). With any luck, they will be played again soon. If you're not on the mailing list and you want to be, let us know: spiritofplay1@googlemail.com

Michael, I'm sorry I missed the Bar Rumba gig, but I was so pleased to have you play at the Libertine for Rock-Til-You-Drop on Sunday. You were great. I loved the new songs. And it was great meet your partner and daughter, and to see Will and Lucy too.
See you all soon, Toby

Also, I can't work out where to find the Post feed, as opposed to the comments feed, for this site? I wanna stick a link on my blog.
Let us know if you've secreted it somewhere, or tell em if I'm going mad!

Thanks, Toby, glad you enjoyed the Libertine gig – it was a pleasure. It was very fine to meet your daughter, too, the little magician. And weren't Will and Lucy well behaved?
The post feed should be easy to find now – see the main page...
