We play pop so you don't have to

After our last gig of the year at the Libertine on Saturday, everything went well, we all had a good time and stayed for a few drinks and well, let's just say I didn't go home alone. Oh no. I took a lovely Laney back in the cab with me and, though it is technically not mine, I've got my lawyers working on it night and day and they assure me we can get round any niggling legal questions. Don't worry, I'm treating it very well. In fact, I think it feels quite at home already.
The gig, since you ask, was most enjoyable; we were ably supported by Claire from EasyMediumHard and our lovely, supportive audience remained so even though we played for three-quarters of an hour ("What's that? You'd like to hear a song about chromosomes? Why, certainly Madam"). I'm of the Jesus and Mary Chain school of thought meself, in and out in under half an hour (opiates optional), but we felt we had to do a bit more than that as were headlining.
Jonny took care of business and then went home almost immediately afterwards; he pretended it was because his better half was working the next day, but it was in fact to watch Strictly Come Dancing. Which Michael has written a song about. I mean the song is about Strictly, not about the fact that Jonny went marching home again, hoorah. I can feel myself getting into trouble as I write.
A nice photographer called Andy who I met in the ladies' toilets took some pictures of us; that is literally true and not as odd as it sounds. We'll put them up in a bit and you can gasp in wonder, or something. No gigs for the rest of the year, just mince pies and prescription drugs. Sorry, I mean we're doing a bit of recording; we'll send the results out to some lucky lucky "record" labels and then - world domination.
All together now: "Don't waste your time, dum dum dum dum dum DUUUM, because the doggone Laney's mine".

I may not be a Laney, but I'm all woman.
