We play pop so you don't have to

. . .playing in London's trendy Soho. Evening started with Will and Michael being approached by youths (estimated age: 14), who shyly mumbled "Where's the red light?". As if there were only one, bless 'em. So Will and Michael sent them off to see some of their very special friends - ah, those were the days - no, hang on, they called a local red-cheeked bobby who sent the young scamps off with a flea in their ear. Or they mowed them down with the lasers set to stun. Can't remember.
So we proceeded to get onstage, tangle up our guitar wires, ask each other what the songs were about, tune up almost endlessly and to no obvious effect (me) and eventually play a few songs, to a high-octane crowd of editors, academics, boffins, composers, photographers, journalists, designers, writers - the usual sort of low-life you find hanging around Soho on a Saturday night. And what lovely low-life they were.
Next up, the woodwork squeaks and out come the geeks . . .We've done some new recording but we can't tell you about it yet because it's top-secret, like the final Harry Potter, only probably not quite so financially successful, and must only be released by those crazy geekpop boys and girls. Watch this virtual space. And Get In.

You don't need to put on a Red Light. Or sell your body to the night. Someone should tell those boys.
