Like a bird on a wire
This blog is for stuff that's "interesting us today", right? Well, its got nothing to do with music, but it made my day yesterday. I was walking down Grays Inn Road on my way to the corporate monolith that is the TLS, when a little flash of yellow caught my eye. It was a stunning little bird (in the ornithological, rather the the sexist meaning of the word) with a lovely long tail flying about quite happily close to Kings Cross station. A quick visit to the RSPB website revealed it was a grey wagtail. Not your normal little run... ... continue ...

Not the First Law, the Second Law . . .
Well, yes, but which one? Newton, Kepler, Mendel? No, the other one – Maxwell's Demon, Thomas Pynchon, ones and zeroes, Bob's your uncle. Save BBC6Music
It was announced recently that the BBC is to close its superb 6 Music radio station as part of a cost-cutting shake-up. The station is one of the few places where the spirit of John Peel survives on the BBC. It's certainly the only place you get to hear the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Don Letts and Bob Dylan spinning discs. We believe that the decision to close the stations is the wrong one.
