Mind your keys and news
As earlier alluded to by Mr Tom, the SOP gig hotline has been ringing off the hook and the band logo has been appearing in the Gotham night sky (it always worried me how the bat logo could appear in the sky on a non solid surface - any explanations?). Commissioner Gordon's place has been taken by someone at Lambeth town hall, with an urgent request to provide the Lambeth Country Show with half an hour of geeky, sciency music. KAPPOOOOW!!!! CLANGGGGG!!!! ZOKK!!!!!! I should stop this now. We'll be there on Sunday July 17th on the Village Green Stage.... ...

Glasgow, the home town of pop music
This week, we have been mostly thinking about Glasgow, not least because those nice folk at Pop Goes the Revolution have been playing the odd song by your favourite Two Cultures-inspired house-band of the literary elite. No, not them. Us. Any road up, it has long been a dearly-held and not-particularly-thought-through belief of mine that when it comes to choosing the spiritual home of pop music in the UK, despite noisy arguments for Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, etc, it is clearly Glasgow. Summer songs
So the weather has made me think that Summer is just around the corner, which means two things: 1) Spirit of Play Summer gigs. All under wraps at the moment, but expect some exciting announcements about al-fresco SoP shows and festival dates soon. 2) Summer songs. No, not the SoP track 'Summer Song'...but the rash of brilliant Summer one hit wonders and incomprehensible euro-dance. There's some great posts about it here and here, plus some fab/cheesy Summer hits below. Perhaps this should be our new direction? ...
