They're an eclectic bunch, our mates - and by 'eck, we're proud to know them (well, some of them; the others are just, uh, hangers-on...). Here's what they've been getting up to recently, in no particular order, and/or will be getting up to in the near future:
1) Martin "The Sound of the Ladies" Austwick has just blogged about storytelling and song-writing. Why have I hyphenated one of those terms and not the other? What in tarnation's gotten into me? He's also speaking at the Bright Club later this month, and you look back through his twitter feed (not too far back, mind), you'll see an SOP connection . . . .
6) James Murray has just released a bloomin' gorgeous mix called A Missing Element for Fluid Audio.
D) See that picture above? That's Aidy, that is - on tour this week, he's already been all over the place, and he's coming to London this Friday, when the bill will also be (AHEM! see top right! come on, who's with me/us?), er, me. As is Patrick Begley of Dipsticks, I believe, who played at the first gig we played for RTYD. See? It's all coming together, innit?
4) Like us, the Morris Folk Choir are playing (or rather, singing) the Lambeth Country Show in a couple of weeks' time - unlike us, they're on Saturday afternoon and know some sea shanties.
Four points is plenty for now (forgive me if I've missed anyone with something really pressing or massively important on the way) - points z) to 61) can come later. The overall point, though, is that aren't these folks/ladies/Aidys/Murrays a talented and diverse lot? Off they go, pursuing their own musical agendas, brilliantly... it's great to see... and even... hear..........

Yup, that's beautiful. Sniff. Like Maggie, Hopey and Penny Century in the barrio, like Scooby, Shaggy, Velma et al, meddling and getting in the way, like Buffy, Willow and all those undead blokes doing apocalyptic battle before double math, like Harry, Ron, Hermione and the DA takin' on the Death Eaters in a stew of hormones - need I go on? Probably not.
