If that's truly the case, then SOP must be the wittiest band going. We struggle to write a song longer than three minutes, and when played live, most of them are finished in two. Got to give the crowd what they want.

I read that The Flaming Lips are in the process of recording a 6 hour charity single, which will consist of Wayne Coyne singing the names of the 10,300 people who have donated £60 to be included on the song. Now I've seen the Flaming Lips a couple of times, and the grump in me would say that most of their songs feel about 6 hours long, by the time you've got all the self indulgence and gimmickry out of the way.

However it's hard to be too hard on this project, especially when you consider how long it can take to record a three minute SOP song. At least a day to get even the roughest of mixes together. Good for them I say.
