Spirit of Play

This week I have mostly listening to Teenage Fanclub. I'd totally forgotten how brilliant they are, but this clip reminded me: The things I love about this clip are a) the count in, b) the vocal harmony at 1.07 c) the GCSE student playing wicked drums, and d) quite how rubbish they look, proving image is nothing. Plus they were one of Kurt Cobain's favourite bands. The thing I don't like about the clip is the weird little character at the start. I've also been reminded about The Posies. Do you remember them? that we're so busy wassail, wassailing all over the town, making paper chains, writing songs that we hope won't turn out in 5/4, socialising, playing MarioKart (Luigi on a Wild Wing, since you ask), opening our advent Calendars and suchlike that we haven't actually got a Christmas gig.
